5 things I value about my marketing consultant course at University of Wolverhampton – By Elizabeth Ajose
Updated: May 6

I'm Elizabeth Ajose, a final-year International Business Management student at the University of Wolverhampton with a developing interest in digital marketing, branding, and content development. As I approach the final year of my degree, one module that has greatly affected my professional path is the Marketing Consultant course. This course has not only improved my academic understanding, but it has also provided me with practical, real-world marketing skills that I will apply in my professional life.
Learning Future-Focused Skills like Vibe Coding
One of the most interesting aspects of this course has been the ability to learn new, future-oriented skills like Vibe Coding. In a digital marketing world dominated by innovation, technology, and adaptability, being exposed to fresh concepts like this has broadened my thinking outside established structures. It has pushed me to think differently not just as a student, but as a problem solver who can combine creativity and technology technologies. This experience has made me more versatile and more equipped for the dynamic nature of modern marketing industry.
A Lecturer Who Truly Makes a Difference
Dr Monica Chauhan's teaching style is undeniably one of the course's unique qualities. Her ability to simplify complicated topics while preserving academic depth has been really helpful in my shift to marketing. Rather than depending entirely on theory, her lessons are participatory, planned, and thoroughly entertaining. She ensures that no student falls behind by consistently promoting involvement and critical thinking.
Her teaching is even more effective since she incorporates real-world insights and guest speaker sessions that bridge the gap between theory and practice. These experiences have helped me to observe how marketing works outside of the classroom, making my learning feel more relevant and useful.
Building Confidence Through Professional Networking
Another aspect I value is how the training has challenged me to venture beyond of my zone of comfort, particularly when it comes to professional social media platforms. Prior to this, I was not very active on platforms like LinkedIn and Instagram. I now find myself blogging, engaging in conversation, and connecting with students and professionals from a variety of sectors.
This transformation has been quite powerful. It has helped me grasp the value of personal branding and networking, particularly as someone striving to be a Digital Marketing Manager. In today's professional world, visibility is equally crucial as skill.

Networking with other course mate Connecting Theory to Real-World Application
Before starting this course, marketing principles sometimes seemed vague. However, via properly structured assignments and practical discussions, I was able to apply theory to real-world business issues. This has really expanded my understanding of topics such as digital marketing strategy, customer behaviour, and brand positioning.
More importantly, this technique has helped me improve my leadership and team management abilities. Working on projects together has encouraged me to improve my communication skills, take initiative, and confidently apply theoretical knowledge. I am no longer simply learning marketing I am beginning to practise.
Motivation Through Relatable Success Stories
Knowing that my lecturer and other guest speakers both attended the same university has been quite effective. It serves as a reminder that success is not far away or impossible, it is earned through persistence, effort, and ongoing learning. This relatability has encouraged me to take my growth more seriously and believe in my own abilities.

Conclusion
Looking back, this course provided me with considerably more than academic knowledge. It has helped me gain confidence, acquire practical skills, and be more purposeful about my professional path. As someone looking to get into the industry of digital marketing, I feel more equipped, visible, and connected than ever before.
